Artist Statement.

I am a seeker, a traveler and a collector of moments. I've been capturing images since I was 15 years old, and more than twenty-five years later, I still haven't put the camera down. I consider myself a lover of light -- to bend it, shape it, and let it illuminate what might otherwise go unnoticed is one of my greatest joys. My approach to each subject is rooted in respect and curiosity, composing images that ideally evoke a twinge of nostalgia and real emotion. My intention is to invite the viewer to step inside a photograph and find themselves absorbed into a different place or time. My hope is that presenting my images at a large scale encourages that sense of immersion.

I move through life as an organic observer -- even a good listener -- but sometimes the words won't come. This work, however, lets me fill the void. Capturing a vision of a moment is a gift. It summons us to ponder what's inside of it and consider what it says. Photography can be subjective, and my goal is to inspire people to escape to someplace familiar or new, recall where they’ve been or where they hope to go someday — to indulge in a moment of wanderlust and discovery of the self. I hope this work connects in some way with those who view it. I'm grateful to those who accept the invitation.

“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”

Print Info & Framing Recommendations

As of May 2020, all of my fine art prints come unframed, and they are printed on archivable paper with a matte finish . The smaller sizes can be easier to find standard size frames (8x10, 11x14, 16x20). Larger prints 18x24 and up, I can advise with custom framing, please inquire within. Below are samples of different sizing in frames and the extra large print was custom framed locally, please inquire, I can assist you if you are local only.

I also recommend getting your image from me first, then taking it to a framer, or using one of the following online places: like Framebridge, Artifact Uprising and Simply Framed. They are great online resources and you can customize with mattes, frames and sizes. I am not affiliated with these companies, they are simply a recommendation since many people always ask me about places to buy frames.

Every Print is a custom printed to order, inspected and then signed by artist. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. No returns or refunds once your order has been printed and shipped. If you would like your print custom framed, please let me know when you check out and I will contact you directly about timeline and delivery. Thank you so much.

IN SITU

This is a another beautiful design by James Michael Howard, his Watermill Project. I love how my beach fine art is framed above this console. This is from the South Jax Beach Series and features the old pier.

Main image was shot by photographer Lucas Allen for James Michael Howard

This is print is from my Alys Beach series. I took this on a cloudy and peaceful morning during a walk with one of my best friends. The sun was filtering in and created a pinkish sky next to the emerald green waters. It has quickly become one of my most popular prints. It looks beautiful in a white frame, too, for a more modern finish!

Jim Howard used my South Jacksonville Beach Fine Art Beach Print for his Calf Creek project, which appeared in his new book, ATMOSPHERE: The Seven Elements of Great Design. I love how this is a beautiful statement piece above the bed.
